Bill Reinhold

Special Guest

 

One of this year’s special guests is Comic Book Artist and Chicago native, Bill Reinhold. A graduate of the American Academy of Art in Chicago, Bill has worked for Marvel Comics, DC Comics, Dark Horse, and Soleil Productions. In 1993 he co-created a series called SPYKE, which was originally published by Epic/Marvel, and has since worked with other artists on The Punisher, The Amazing Spider-Man, Daredevil, Wolverine, Batman, Green Arrow, and many more.

Jeffrey Moy

Special Guest

 

Special Guest Jeffrey Moy is a Madison based illustrator with over 20 years of experience, starting with his work on DC Comic’s Legionnaires. In addition to his comic work, Jeffrey worked with Raven Software for years and submitted concepts and designs for many video games, including Star Trek Voyager: Elite Force, X-Men Legends and X-Men Legends II, Marvel Ultimate Alliance, X-Men Origins: Wolverine Uncaged Edition, Singularity, and Call of Duty: Black Ops. Recently he has been working for various game companies and taking on other freelance jobs, notably, a year stint at Human Head Studios working on outsourced content for Trion's MMO shooter/ SyFy tv show Defiance and a return to comics with some old favorites in the Star Trek/ Legion of Superheroes crossover for IDW Publishing.

Philip Moy

Special Guest

 

Special Guest Philip Moy is an Inker and Artist who’s worked in comics for over 20 years. His biggest claim to fame is working on DC’s Powerpuff Girls comic which included drawing nearly all the covers of the 70 issue run, as well as drawing stories in several issues. More recently Philip’s inking work can be found in mini-series crossovers Star Trek/Legion of Superheroes and Danger Girl/G.I. Joe from IDW. His work can also be found in DC’s Legionnaires, Samurai Jack in Cartoon Network Action Pack, Hi Hi Puffy Amiyumi; Marvel’s Excalibur, Age of Apocalypse: X-Calibre; and Malibu’s Hardcase, and Foxfire. As an artist, Philip’s enthusiasm for mainstream comics, anime, sci-fi, and cartoons enable him to adjust his style to what’s needed for whatever project he’s working on.

Celina Barajas is a coffee and animal loving Chicago based animator/illustrator who has been working on her own happy and playful art and comics since she joined the Con scene back in 2013. Jamie Primack is a Chicago-based comic artist and illustrator who writes and draws the sci-fi comic series Binary Star. She’s best known for her dark, cosmic illustration, which combine various inking techniques and sci-fi imagery to create her space goth aesthetic.

Justin Castaneda is back with more fun stuff for young comic fans! Justin is a writer and illustrator from the south side of Chicago. He is the creator of When I Was Little children’s picture book series and the hardcover children’s book HEART. He has worked on such titles as Aw Yeah Comics, Scratch 9, Albert the Alien. He is currently working on Wonder Care Presents: The Kinder Guardians.

Mandy Madrox

 

 

A Kankakee native, Mandy Madrox has always had a pretty active imagination and a fascination for all things horror, fantasy and science fiction, which led her to write her urban fantasy series, Nephilim, that incorporates many horror elements. Also a self-published author, she has released two of the planned six titles in the series and will have copies of the books available for purchase at Comicopolis, as well as book related artwork and merchandise.

We are happy to welcome local cosplayer and costume creator Alex Carberry who will be joining us at Comicopolis as a Costume Contest Judge. Alex is an actor for Hayride of Horror as well as for Limestone Stage, Lockport's community theater. Alex has created 13 cosplays in the past four years and is seen here as Ciel Phantomhive from the Black Butler series.

A videogame podcast with a lighthearted attitude, The Controller Throwers are old-school gamers who have been playing since the days of the arcade.
