With over 30 vendors and exhibitors selling their art and comic book memorabilia, Comicopolis is our geek-culture celebration that will be bigger and better than ever before. Test your wits at our Harry Potter Tri-Wizard Tournament. Wear your best cosplay and enter into our costume contest outside. Race remote controlled pods in the library. The great George Hagenauer is coming to Comicoplis! George has been collecting since the mid 1960's. His collection is awesome and you can view it on http://www.comicartfans.com. He co-wrote books on popular culture including one that won a national book award for best mystery fiction. He’s currently working with two writers on a major biography on Ness and Capone. He is a supporter of the Comic Book Relief Fund and will be holding a silent auction for a couple of Shea Anton Pensa original Badger drawings.

Don't miss Christa Conner this year at Comicoplis 2017 at the Lockport branch of the White Oak Library District. Christa will be selling Collaborative Ink art prints, banners, buttons, post cards, key chains, and mugs with artwork, as well as original artwork.

Come check out Andrew Taam at Comicopolis on August 5th! Andrew is a Chicago based independent artist and graduate from the International School of Comics. He will be selling prints from pop culture and comics, art books of his inked drawings from Inktober, and a mini comic that is a modern retelling of the Little Red Riding Hood story.

Come see David Gruba at Comicopolis 2017. Dave is an independent publisher of comic books for all ages, including superhero and horror genres. He works with Instant Press Comics whose most popular titles include Distant, Starbomb and The Tales of the Wolfman one-shots.

We welcome Dave Knight to Comicopolis 2017 at the Lockport branch of White Oak Library District. Some would say his art is bold with a splash of curiosity, cut from a straight jacket of creativity, and defined by the subtle designs and images seen tossed about by the everyday world. He sells prints of both fan art and original characters, as well as oracle cards.

Comicopolis will be hosting Katie Blanchard on August 5th, 2017 at the White Oak Library District Lockport Branch. Katie loves exploring the anime art style. Inspired by Japanese cartoons, she primarily draws original characters and has also created some fan art.

Patrick Williams is returning to Comicopolis 2017 at the Lockport branch of White Oak Library District on August 5th. Patrick is a Graphic Designer/Freelance Illustrator/Comic Book Artist. He is the writer and letterer of Sonic the Hedgehog, Terminator, Ghost Busters, and Twilight Zone comics.

Come on out to Comicopolis at the Lockport branch of the White Oak Library District on August 5th to see Douglas Klauba! An award-winning illustrator, Douglas Klauba has created cover artwork for books featuring such famous characters as Kolchak: The Night Stalker, Doc Savage, The Avenger, The Spider, Zorro, and The Phantom. A poster of his painting, Stella 7 can even be seen hanging on Howard Wolowitz's bedroom wall on the hit television show, The Big Bang Theory.

We're proud to welcome our Guest of Honor Eddy Newell to Comicopolis this year at the White Oak Library District Lockport Branch. Eddy Newell has created comic art for many different publishers since 1989, including DC, Marvel, and Image Comics. He is best known for his work on DC Comics BLACK LIGHTNING and various Moonstone Books comics and covers, which include art for the WEREWOLF THE APOCALYPSE series of books.

At Comicopolis 2017 we're celebrating Lockport’s 4th annual Summer Art Series, a.k.a. The Great Midwestern Ballyhoo, that runs from June 15th through September 23rd. With an emphasis on public art, an original Collector Card Scavenger Hunt, and a Steampunk Weekend featuring Steam Powered Giraffe and more – a glorious summer is planned, Lockport-style.
